SYJS Purpose:

Working with our partners to support strategic leadership and corporate governance in the four South Yorkshire Joint Authorities.

SYJS Strategic Objectives:

To enable the Authorities to fulfil their roles and responsibilities by:

• Listening to the views of the District Councils, communities and other stakeholders
  
• Providing evidence-based independent advice
  
• Enabling the formulation of effective strategies and policies
  
• Supporting effective scrutiny of the Joint Authorities and their Services
  To administer the Authorities' affairs by:

 

• Organising and administering effective business meetings

• Promoting integrity and ethical standards and new cars
  
• To provide the most appropriate support to Members by:

• Enabling Members to develop appropriate skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the business of their Authority
• Specialists for Jet Charter
  
• Promoting effective communications and access to relevant information

SYJS will do this by:

• Managing and continually improving performance
  
• Creating and maintaining a competent, valued and motivated workforce
  
• Being at the forefront of local and national developments
  
• Managing resources in the most economic and efficient way

SYJS will also:

Provide additional support to the Authorities and the Services where this represents the most cost effective solution for them.
